HALF FARE BUS TRAVEL FOR STUDENTS AGED 11 TO 18

A Hertfordshire SaverCard enables students aged from 11 to 18 in Hertfordshire to qualify for reduced bus fares.

The Hertfordshire SaverCard entitles the holder to travel for half the normal adult fare, on local bus services within Hertfordshire and to certain destinations outside, at all times. A valid Hertfordshire SaverCard must be held, or full fare will be charged. The Hertfordshire Savercard is not valid on bus services operated under contract to Transport for London.

The type of Hertfordshire SaverCard that can be applied for will depend on age as outlined below:

STUDENTS AGED BETWEEN 11 AND 16 YEARS

Students aged under 16 can apply for a Hertfordshire SaverCard that will be valid up to the day before their 16th birthday. There is a one-off charge of £10 for the first application (and for any replacement card).

STUDENTS AGED BETWEEN 16 AND 18 YEARS

Students aged between 16 and 18 (or aged 15 and become 16 during the academic year), in full time education and resident in the administrative county of Hertfordshire can apply for a Hertfordshire SaverCard that will be valid up to the end of the academic year (30th September). This can be renewed each academic year as long as they still qualify. There is a charge of £10.00 for each application.
