Oyster Comes to Hertford East Station

Wed 28th October, 2015 8:11:am

Oyster cards can now be used to travel between Hertford East and London on Abellio train services. This brings extra convenience for train commuters and leisure travellers and, in most cases, reduced travel costs on return and single fares.

To obtain an Oyster card, visit the ticket office at a TfL tube or London Overground station, or order online for postal delivery at the TfL website. Alternatively, you can use a contactless debit/credit card in addition to, or instead of your Oyster card. Just remember to tap in and out for every journey. We recommend you create an online Oyster account so that any misrecorded journeys can be corrected and refunds to your card more easily made.

To check and compare fares in advance, visit the TfL Fare Finder page and the Abellio website or a local ticket office. There are examples of journey types where Oyster may be more expensive than paper tickets, especially at weekends or where one-day travelcards can be added to a rail ticket .For queries about loading season tickets and concessionary fares onto your card, visit an Abellio or TfL station (or call 0343 222 1234).

Buses in Hertfordshire will not accept Oyster, apart from a small number of TfL services into the southern part of the county.
