Safer Travel - Covid 19
New coronavirus restrictions were announced during the latest government's statement on Saturday, 27th November 2021.
Passengers please be aware that from Tuesday 30th of November, face masks are mandatory when travelling on public transport*.
This should cover your nose and mouth. A face covering is not the same as the surgical masks or respirators used by healthcare and other workers as part of personal protective equipment (PPE). These should continue to be reserved for those who need them to protect against risks in their workplace, such as health and care workers, and those in industrial settings, like those exposed to dust hazards.
In addition to public transport, face coverings must be worn on dedicated school or college transport for children aged 11 and over.
Passengers are reminded of the importance of following the mandatory rules for the protection of themselves and others when using public transport.
*Exemptions - people who do not have to wear a face covering
