Community Shelters Project - North Herts College, Stevenage Campus & ASDA
Community Shelter Project: Stevenage North Herts College
For this location, we worked with colleagues in our Highways department to completely rebuild the whole bus stop area. A brand-new footpath has been put in, connecting the bus shelter to the footpaths for ASDA and the College, providing safer access points to the shelter.
We have also put added a new modern bus shelter with a dedicated space for wheelchair users inside the shelter. An electronic screen is due to be placed inside the shelter and a living roof will also be installed in the spring.
Additionally, we worked with North Herts College Stevenage campus, and their supported studies students, who created the wonderful artwork which is proudly being displayed on the shelter.
We hope this has created an enjoyable space to visit, for all in the community regardless of if you use the bus or not.
Below shows images of before the project started, during the build of the footpaths, the installation of the new shelter and images of the new shelter with the artwork added.
