Great news for the 390 and 907!
Since the launch of the 907 bus route on 16th April 2023 we have seen a significant increase in patronage of the service. The 907 was introduced to run alongside the existing 390 route operated by Centrebus, increasing frequency up to every 30 minutes. This was made possible thanks to Bus Service Improvement Plan funding of £29.7 million from the Department for Transport.
The 390 has shown an increase of around 371 passengers a week, that is a 26.27% increase on the previous year. Figures in March 2024 for the 907 are showing over 550 passengers a day.
The 907 operating with the 390 has provided an important link in Hertfordshire, connecting the key towns of Stevenage and Hertford with a frequent public transport option.
As major feature of the new service was to create a bespoke brand to easily identify the improved bus services. You may have seen our Connect Herts logo on the buses, we wanted to create an identity with the brand that could be easily recognisable and using the simple strapline of ‘Connecting your Journey’ communicates to our residents that this scheme is working towards joining the county with improved bus travel.
The Connect Herts logo maps out the other key corridors in Hertfordshire which were identified as part of the Bus Service Improvement Plan’s network review and service frequencies have now been introduced in Watford, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead and Welwyn Garden City.
The 907 is one of many improvements that has been made as part of the Bus Service Improvement Plan’s package of initiatives to grow the bus network in Hertfordshire.
