Improved Bus Connections for Hertfordshire
6 months ago
Four bus services across Hertfordshire have been improved, with additional services or new routes to improve bus travel in Hertfordshire. These changes, some of which are funded by developer contributions and Bus Service Improvement Plan funding from Central Government, will bring some significant improvements to bus travel in Hertfordshire.
There’s a brand-new service linking Stevenage and Baldock (Service 92), with buses every hour Mondays to Saturdays, and two-hourly on Sundays. This service provides new, direct links with the Letchworth Lordship Estate and Baldock to Stevenage, and serves new housing developments as well as Franklin Park and Forster Park in Stevenage. There is also an improved service also between Stevenage and Letchworth for Graveley.
Royston to Letchworth has been enhanced, with Service 91 running every hour Monday – Friday, with two hourly services on Sundays. This is an increase on the previous average of five journeys a day.
Service 907 between Cheshunt Brookfield Centre and Stevenage has additional later evening journeys, providing improved commuter opportunities for Stevenage. More buses will now operate via Watton-at-Stone including all day on Sundays through Service 907A.
A new route (Service 388) has been brought in to operate on Monday - Friday. Tewin and Burnham Green will benefit, with improved links to Welwyn Garden City.
These improvements aim to strengthen bus travel in Hertfordshire with more frequent services and improved links for local residents.
