New and improved bus services coming to Letchworth Garden City and Baldock

From 31st August, bus routes in Letchworth and Baldock are changing. With improved frequencies and new routes, Letchworth Garden City and Baldock will have increased connectivity in Hertfordshire.

These changes, some of which are funded by developer contributions and Bus Service Improvement Plan funding from Central Government, will bring some significant improvements to bus travel in Hertfordshire.

• Service 91, Royston to Letchworth via Baldock, will now run up to every hour on Mondays to Fridays and every two hours on Saturdays.
• A new service, route 92 will operate between Baldock and Stevenage via Lordship Estate and Letchworth town Centre, up to every hour on Mondays to Fridays and every two hours on Sundays.
• Now three buses an hour between Letchworth and Stevenage on Mondays to Saturdays (existing service 55 service plus new route 92).
• Number of Baldock to Letchworth departures increases to at least three buses an hour on Mondays to Saturdays (existing route 98, improved service 91 and the new 92 route).
• Brand new travel opportunities for residents of the Lordship Estate to visit Stevenage and Baldock without changing buses (route 92).
• Sunday and Public Holiday buses between Baldock and Letchworth increase to once an hour during the day (routes 92 and 98).
• On Sundays and Public Holidays, the frequency between Letchworth and Stevenage has been increased from two-hourly to hourly (Services 55 and 92).

The 53 service is being withdrawn but will be replaced to a similar level of service as previously operated:

• Wilbury Hills – new service 93, plus additional journeys on routes 93A and 97A.
• Highfield – served by re-routed service 98.
• Lordship Estate – new service 92.
