'A real ale trail by bus' guide is out now
8 months ago
'A real ale trail by bus' guide is now available. The trail runs between Welwyn Garden City and Hitchin along the 314/315 bus service route and includes the villages of Welwyn, Codicote, Kimpton, Whitwell, St.Paul’s Walden and Chapelfoot.
It has been produced in partnership with CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), Intalink and Centrebus. The 314/315 route, operated by Centrebus, was chosen as there are a range of pubs and cask ale suppliers along both routes. The project supports both Intalink and CAMRA’s policy to promote the use of public transport in Hertfordshire. CAMRA views this guide as part of its continuing support for the pubs in the county.
The guide is free and lists all the pubs that sell cask ale along the bus route with information on each location including accessibility, food provisions and if the premises is dog friendly. It includes symbols of other pub facilities, town and route maps and general information on the area covered, plus ticketing options.
The guides are available in both the North Herts and South Herts branches of CAMRA, at CAMRA events well as along the 314/315 bus route - in the pubs listed in the leaflet, in local libraries, tourist offices and on the buses themselves.
An online copy can be found on the CAMRA South Herts Branch website.
