Road Closure: Park Street, Monday 19th August to Sunday 6th October
Due to roadworks in Park Street services 601 and 635 are unable to serve the village and are on diversion.
The closure is taking place in several phases:
Phase 1: 19th August -21st August - Park Street – Watling Road closed from Park Street Lane Junction Northwards to Burydell Lane
Phase 2: 22nd – 5th September - Park Street Watling Street & Park Street Lane junction closed
Phase 3-5: 6th September – 4th October – Park Street, Frogmore south of Park Street Lane closed at various points.
During Phases 1 and 2 the 601 and 635 will be diverting via North Orbital Road, Tippendell Lane, Penn Road, How Wood, Park Street Lane, the 601 will also divert along Smug Oak Lane to pick up its normal route at Radlett Road.
As a result of this diversion, stops between North Orbital Road and The Red Cow PH cannot be served.
Both services will call at the stop Penn Road, Mayflower Rd and How Wood shops.
To help residents connect with bus services, there will be two free shuttles operating. For details on stop locations
The PS1 will operate a shuttle service from the top of Watling Street to St Albans, Doggetts Lane, allowing bus users to connect with other local services.
The HW1 will operate from Minster Court and will take bus users to How Wood shops where they can connect with the 635, 361 and 601 service.
The PS1 will operate until 31st August and the HW1 will operate for the full duration of the roadworks until 6th October.
From 6th September until 6th October, phase 3-5 of the works, the 601 will operate along Watling Street serving stops up to the War Memorial where it will divert along Park Street Lane, Tippendell Lane, Penn Road, How Wood, Park Street Lane and Smug Oak Lane. The operator, Uno, will be using a smaller vehicle to ensure they can pass under the railway bridge at Park Street Lane.
