Hertfordshire SaverCard

SaverCards provide discounted bus fares for everyone who lives in Hertfordshire.

The Hertfordshire SaverCard is part of our commitment to provide lower cost travel for people, making it easier for them to access employment, education, retail, and leisure facilities.

The two new versions of the Hertfordshire SaverCard have been introduced and are supported by Hertfordshire County Council’s Bus Service Improvement Plan, which has been funded with £29.7m from the Department for Transport. These are the Adult SaverCard for those between the age of 26 and 59, and the Senior SaverCard for those between the age of 60 and state pension age, when free travel becomes available with a concessionary bus pass.

You can travel on any local bus service operating in Hertfordshire (except services operated under contract to Transport for London and operated by Grant Palmer Ltd). There are no time restrictions for using the discounted tickets.

A Hertfordshire SaverCard costs £20* (for online and phone applications) for 1 year of discounted travel. If you're at secondary school and your family is on a low income or receives benefits, you may be eligible to get a SaverCard for free. SaverCards can be renewed each year, as long as you still qualify. We’ll let you know when it’s time to renew. You can renew your SaverCard up to 60 days before the renewal date.

To get the discount on a bus with your SaverCard you will usually need to tap your SaverCard on the ticket machine card reader. If there is no card reader, or for other reasons, the driver will need to see your SaverCard.

By registering your Hertfordshire SaverCard on your Intalink account the appropriate discount will be automatically applied when you purchase any Intalink tickets via the Intalink app or website.

You can now also use your SaverCard to hold any Intalink Connect tickets you purchase in advance of travel through this website. Furthermore, you can now use your SaverCard as a cashless payment card through the MentPay transit purse facility.

The discounts available to you will depend on your age and the type of SaverCard that you have:

SaverCard (11–19 year olds):

SaverCard Plus (20–25 year olds)

Adult SaverCard (26–59 year olds)

Senior SaverCard (60+ year olds)
