Important Information for all Applicants and Users
During the current Covid-19 lockdown, with schools and colleges only being open for vulnerable children and children of critical workers we appreciate that most Hertfordshire SaverCard holders will not be travelling by bus. Therefore:
If you have a Hertfordshire SaverCard that was ‘active’ on the 4th January 2021 we are extending the period of validity by the number of days until the end of the lockdown period and schools and colleges fully reopen again.[i] You will be notified in advance when the next renewal is due.
If, after receiving a renewal invitation, you have already renewed your Hertfordshire SaverCard then your next renewal date will be automatically extended by the number of days in the lockdown period.
If, after receiving a renewal invitation, you have not renewed your Hertfordshire SaverCard then you do not need to renew it immediately. Your Hertfordshire SaverCard will remain valid for use during the lockdown period with the renewal date being automatically extended by the number of days in the lockdown period. It will then be due for renewal when you receive another renewal invitation, which will be sent out shortly before the end of the lockdown period.
If you need to replace a Hertfordshire SaverCard during the lockdown period then the replacement will either be valid one year from the date of the replacement application or the validity of the Hertfordshire SaverCard being replaced, whichever is later.
[i] The validity will not be extended for low income applications. These are only valid for one academic year and will still expire on the 31/08/2021.
If you are aged between 11 and 19 and travel by bus in Hertfordshire, then you may qualify for reduced bus fares with a Hertfordshire SaverCard. All applicants must be a resident in the administrative county of Hertfordshire. A Hertfordshire SaverCard will allow you to buy single and return bus tickets with a discount of 50% off the regular adult fares for travel at all times on all local bus services (except Transport for London services) operating within Hertfordshire and to main destinations outside the county. In addition, discounts (less than 50%) are given for many other ticket types offered by Intalink and the bus operators.
The Hertfordshire SaverCard is valid for a year from date of application and there is a fee of £25.00 (online price £20.00) for each year.
